The Maxey Endowment Scholarship

Honoring a Legacy. Opening Doors for Future Students.

For more than two decades, Chris and Pam Maxey have dedicated their lives to building The Island School and nurturing the community that surrounds it. Their vision helped shape an educational model that has inspired thousands of students to think deeply about their relationship with the natural world, with one another, and with the responsibility of leadership.

As the Rising TIDE Campaign looks toward the future, we are seeking to honor their extraordinary legacy through the creation of the Maxey Scholarship Endowment.

This fund will provide permanent scholarship support to ensure that students from a wide range of backgrounds continue to have access to the life-changing experience of The Island School. By strengthening financial access, the endowment will help preserve the diversity of perspective, curiosity, and leadership that define this community.

To launch this effort, the campaign is seeking a leadership gift of $1 million to establish the Maxey Scholarship Endowment. Once this founding commitment is secured, the fund will become an opportunity for alumni, families, and friends of The Island School to contribute at any level, building a permanent scholarship resource over time.

In this way, the Maxey Scholarship Endowment will serve both as a tribute to the founders who shaped the School and as a collective investment in the generations of students who will follow.

As we approach the public launch of the Rising TIDE Campaign this fall, we hope this endowment will become a meaningful way for the Island School community to honor the past while expanding access for the future.
